Merit Awards for Volunteerism
For 2024, Bath Volunteers for Service (BVS) will award two or more one-thousand-dollar ($1000) awards and a Certificate of Commendation to graduating seniors or the equivalent who have demonstrated that volunteer service has become a part of their emerging philosophy of life.
The contribution of volunteers to the American society is invaluable, and the influence which volunteers exert in their own community commands high praise. The Bath Volunteers for Service acknowledges the value of volunteering. Through this Merit Award, BVS wishes to recognize young adults who have given significant volunteer time to their community and to encourage volunteering throughout their lives.
The applicants must be a graduating high school senior or the equivalent, either attending Revere High School or live in the Revere Local School District and attend an area high school or are home schooled. The Merit Awards Committee, chaired by the Education chairperson, shall select the recipients, and will present the award checks and certificates at the Senior Awards Assembly or equivalent.
Application must be postmarked by April 10, 2024.
Grant for College or Vocational School
Bath Volunteers for Service will also award a $6,000 grant to a graduating senior from Revere High School to either attend a four-year college or a 2-year vocational school. Applications for this grant should be made on the Revere Local Scholarships form which can be picked up at the Revere High School guidance office.
