In addition to our signature events, Bath Volunteers for Service hosts or participates in several other non-fundraising events throughout the year.

New Member Projects

Last year’s new member class chose to work with the Akron Snow Angels.  This group’s mission is to “spread warmth and connect with the most vulnerable in our community by providing basic essentials and fostering compassionate friendships while inspiring others to do the same. They ‘Spread the Warmth’ by providing the less fortunate with warm clothing, blankets, toiletries and lunch.”  Click this link to see how you can help this worthwhile project.

This year’s class has selected to work with the Salvation Army.  They request tooth brushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, deodorant, combs, brushes, and large containers of shampoo, body wash and shaving cream as they provide showers for those in need.  The chef needs large containers of dried herbs and spices as he prepares daily meals.

Blood Drives

At least twice per year, BVS partners with the American Red Cross to host blood drives to meet the critical need in our community. Thank you to all who donate blood as well as those who donate food for the food station. Our last drive was held November 14, 2024 at The Bath Church. Check back later for info about drives as they are scheduled for 2025.

Fall into Nature

BVS supports Fall Into Nature held by our partner, the Bath Park Board, by volunteering and providing sponsorship.  Fall into Nature was last held Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

On Thursday, December 7, 2023, BVS had a wonderful turnout to ring the bell and fill the Red Kettle.  We saw a lot of shoppers we know, recruited checks from friends and family, had a chance to catch up with some of our BVS friends and had a lot of fun!

The best news is that we collected over $2,000 for the Salvation Army! Thank you to all who helped us have a very successful day for those in need.

BVS plans to ring the bell again December 5, 2024 at Montrose Acme!
